International Van of the Year ceremony will take place in Kortrijk

The handover of the trophy belonging to the International Van of the Year Award 2012 will take place on Thursday the 24th of November during the exhibition Trailer in Kortrijk, Belgium. There is no definite list of candidates at this moment. That list will be finished in the last week of September 2011. Voting day is November 1st 2011.

Last year in Hannover: Pieter Wieman, president of the International Van of the Year jury and Fiat Professional CEO Lorenzo Sistino

The following candidates are investigated by the Jury as possible candidates (in alphabetical order) :

  • Fiat Ducato
  • Iveco Daily (nothing known at this moment)
  • Mercedes new light van (in cooperation with Renault, not in production yet)
  • Nissan NV400
  • Opel Combo ( in cooperation with Fiat)
  • Volkswagen Caddy
  • Volkswagen Crafter

There are several new electric vehicles that could also be candidates (in alphabetical order):

  • Fiat Doblo Electric
  • Ford Transit Connect Electric
  • Mercedes-Benz Vito E-Cell
  • Renault Kangoo ZE
